Facebook & Social Media - Understanding the Connection

This is one of the best videos I have seen regarding how a company can utilize Facebook to grow its company. What we need to realize is that customers want to be engaged and as more and more people are becoming involved in your business, it will grow upon itself. New websites from Detailed Web Design

One of the joys of being a web designer is becoming well-versed on a wide range of topics. I am your future Jeopardy winning contestant. I have worked with government officials, singers, actors, horse breeders, designers, photographers, wedding planners, cake designers, lawyers, realtors, and the list goes on. When I become involved with a website client, I jump in with everything from content management for the website to copy writing.

In the last week I have built a website and logo design for law firm in Michigan, I built a website with self-content management for a realtor based out of Orange County, California, and finished a website for a French opera singer.

Today is a big day at Detailed Web Design. One of my favorite search terms for my website is “fort wayne web design.”  A year ago, I ranked in at #126. Nine months ago I ranked in at #65. Six months ago I jumped to #23. Today, I have cracked the top ten, landing on the first page of search results at #10. Ideally, everyone wants to land in the first 3 results. I intend on beating Fort Wayne’s SEO and marketing specialists at their own game. There is no where left to go but up! SEO has become a dynamic part of web design in today’s world. In the last few years, I have come to view a well rounded web designer to be an individual with graphic creativity, programming capabilities, and SEO knowledge. Each plays an important role in presentation, structure, and reaching the audience.SEO specialists are like politicians. Everyone has their own theory and everyone else’s theory can be disproven by some statistic, theory, or Blog. Because of this, SEO specialists are this generation’s used car salesman. The truth is that no one can promise anything. SEO takes research, time, investment, and there are different factors each time, including competition and market size. There are a number of practices that I have learned over the last few years (and recent months) and these techniques I use on my own websites first and foremost to measure their success and their capabilities.SEO has become an exciting part of my business and I love seeing my client’s websites flourish because of the SEO practices that I have inserted and built into their websites.

Social networking or social stalking?

Social Networking has become a staple for businesses. Our previous budgets for ad campaigns now have been redirected towards making that personal connection, one BLOG at a time. So many of us used to renew our weekly ad in the Sunday paper to get out name out there. Now, we’re on Tumblr, we’re LinkedIN, we’re Facebooking, we’re Yelping our recommendations and complaints. There are hundreds of social networks out there to help us connect, dozens worth actually looking into, and a handful that have now given us the ability to sync up with not only our peers but also our competition in a matter of moments. 

Not only do I have the opportunity to share my secrets, my tips, my successes, but now I am able to stalk the competition. So I have. I know the projects they are working on. I know the cost of their bids. I know the name of their staff and what each of them look like…. and I have never even shaken their hand.
